At last! After months of contemplating, I finally decided to get a Tarte Bling It On Amazonian Clay blush palette. I bought this as a gift from me to me. I have been lurking around online stores for almost a year and it has been a vicious cycle of looking at Tarte blush palettes, asking for the price, then resisting the urge to buy afterwards. It went like that for almost a year.
Then it was early this week that the online store Tupped Boutique finally got the Bling It On blush palette which is part of Tarte's Holidaze collection for 2015. This is their third one and I was not able to get the first two palettes since I have some issues with the packaging and, looking back, it was quite expensive for me back then. I have been watching some beauty gurus rave about this product on YouTube and I just knew I needed it in my life.
It was earlier this year that I discovered the brand Tarte. I remember it was because of this post by Essie Button. It was because of her that my curiosity for this product grew. She specifically mentioned Tarte's Amazonian Clay blushes which lasts on the cheeks all throughout the day. Since then, I have heard good things about Tarte and all the reviews and marketing intensified my feelings about it!
A little information about Tarte products
-Formulated WITHOUT: parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, gluten
-CRUELTY FREE - certified by Leaping Bunny. Despite the fact that Tarte was acquired by KOSE, a Japanese brand which is not cruelty-free, Tarte remains cruelty-free
-Infused with Amazonian clay
Amazonian Clay
The first time I heard this it sounded so raw and organic. Amazonian clay is actually harvested from the basin of the Amazon river. This area has the most nutrients from plant and fruit matter gathered by the flowing water all throughout its stretch of 4000 miles. It is said to have skin balancing properties and is also known to improve skin clarity and texture.
Gorgeous black sequined packaging! The palette is sleek, fit for travel. |
Everything about this palette is just so festive! |
This palette includes five blush shades: four matte and one shimmer.
Fetching - matte, rose
Dollface - matte, cool pink
Prim - matte, plum nude
Smashing - matte, coral pink
Beaming - shimmer, apricot pink
All the blushes felt buttery and smooth. They are all easy to blend. I found myself gravitating towards the shade prim, which complements my skin. I can see myself using fetching, prim, and smashing more than dollface and beaming simply because I am not much of a fan of very light pink on my cheeks.
A single
blush pan, the full size version, has
0.2 oz of product while this ones on the palette includes 0.15 oz each. The price of this palette is
less than half the price of five single blush pans and the quality is similar.
A little warning: some sequins may come off! |
Over all, I am
very happy with this purchase and I am looking forward to trying out more Tarte
products next time. This is my first Tarte product and my first mid/high-end
blush palette to date.
What are your all-time
favorite blush brands? I would love to know!
